We have been working with Ultem 1000 plastic, POM anti-static, and PPS GF40 plastics for a long time now. And recently I’ve noticed people asking about these materials on the net.
Ultem 1000, POM anti-static, and PPS GF40 plastic for 3D Printer filaments: which material is the best? Ultem 1000 offers a high performance of dimensional stability and impact strength. Its density is comparable to that of wood and its heat deflection temperature is about 75°C. PPS GF40 has a high affinity for natural PLA, ABS, or HIPS, improving the adhesion between the printed part and the base layer.

Ultem 1000 material
Ultem 1000 material is a high-grade engineering plastic, also known as Makrolon®. It is non-toxic and vapors from it are not hazardous. This makes it ideal for use in medical equipment, water piping, and other areas where chemical exposure can be dangerous.
Ultem 1000 material rod is our most popular material. It’s a transparent filament that prints like PLA, but is stronger and more durable. Ultem 1000 has been used in a wide range of applications including enclosures and consumer products. This material is ideal for functional prototyping and end-use parts requiring higher strength and rigidity.
POM ESD
POM Anti-static is the newest material in our line. Unlike other materials, it offers both strength and stiffness while maintaining an extremely low static charge. It also complies with FDA requirements for food contact applications making it an excellent choice for functional prototypes and end-use parts where a static charge can become a problem.
Static electricity can be a pain. It causes your clothes to stick together and your hair to stand on end, but if you’re working in an environment where you might be exposed to high voltage or radiofrequency energy, static electricity can be dangerous.
POM ESD sheet is a proprietary blend of solvents used for ESD control. POMStaticide works by increasing the surface tension of the solvent used on the surface of an object, effectively reducing the amount of contact between two objects and thus reducing surface charge buildup. These products are designed to reduce electrostatic discharge (ESD) by eliminating electrical charges in dielectrics such as plastics and rubbers that could potentially cause damage to sensitive electronic components and assemblies while they are being handled or assembled during manufacturing.
PPS GF40
PPS GF40 is the newest addition to our line of engineering materials. It’s a high-temperature resistant material that’s great for printing functional prototypes and end-use parts that require both high heat resistance and good thermal stability. This material is perfect for printing gears, bushings, and other mechanisms that are exposed to high temperatures or wear characteristics over long periods of time.
Best ever PPS GF40 rod is the most widely used of all engineering plastics. PPS glass fiber-filled is a smoke-resistant and flame-retardant thermoplastic composite material, which combines the excellent properties of glass fiber with those of PPS.
PPS glass fiber-filled is a very versatile product that can be used for many different things around your home if you need to make repairs or want to do some DIY projects. It is strong enough for those heavy-duty jobs but also gentle enough for more delicate
Ultem 1000, POM anti-static & GF40 plastics are different types of materials. Compared to other materials, Ultem 1000 plastic has very good flexural strength and high-temperature resistance. POM anti-static is softer with a strong anti-static performance and increased dimensional stability than other plastic materials.
