How to Find the Perfect Wedding Venue: Everything You Need to Know

Perfect Wedding Venue

Finding the perfect wedding venue that comes in on budget can be a challenge, to say the least. Of course, location is everything, but you also need to find a venue that suits all your other requirements for your big day.

If you are already stressing out about finding a wedding venue or you don’t even know where to begin in scouting locations, the guide below will tell you everything you need to know.

Decide on a budget

There is no point in even starting to look at different wedding venues until you know how much you have to spend. Therefore, you need to sit down with your partner or wedding planner and determine what you can realistically afford to pay for your venue.

Do not be tempted to stretch this too far, as you don’t want to have to cut back on all your other wedding essentials, such as the wedding dress and catering.

Check the capacity

Next, when you start to look at different venues, check their capacity, as you need to know immediately if they will be able to accommodate all of your guests.

You don’t want a room that is too small, which can feel stuffy and overcrowded. On the flip side, a too big room can make your guests feel lost, and the space feels cold.

Scout different locations

You should always take the time to check out a few different locations, even if you have your heart set on a particular one. Make sure you take someone with you when you do this, such as your partner, a parent, or a friend, as they will be able to help you assess each location more objectively.

Be open to exploring more unique places to get married, as you never know what you might fall in love with.

Pick a season

Some wedding venues look better at certain times of the year, so you need to consider this when choosing your venue. For example, if you are planning a winter wedding, but you visit the venue during the summer, you can’t expect it to look and feel the same on your big day.

It can be a good idea to ask the venue for pictures from weddings during all four seasons to see if they align with your vision for your wedding day.

Meet the venue staff

Something that is often overlooked when it comes to choosing a wedding venue, you need to make sure you meet the venue staff before you sign on the dotted line. Depending on the type of vibe you are trying to achieve, you may prefer the staff to be more formal, or you might want them to come across as more relaxed and casual.

If you have any concerns about the staff, it is better to voice these sooner rather than later, as the last thing you want is to worry about how they interact with your guests on your special day.
