Horse Riding Breeches

English riders usually wear horse riding breeches. Especially for your knees and thighs, they provide comfort and injury protection. You can also get a good grip on the saddle with them since they provide good padding.

At the end where it meets the calf, modern breeches have zippers or Velcro fastenings. Hunting and casual riding are common uses for them. Stretchy, durable, and comfortable materials are normally used to make horse riding breeches. Find your riding breeches here.

Types of breeches

Horse riding breeches fall into four categories: knee patches, full seats, jockey’s breeches, and jodhpurs. These four types are also available in other variations. Jumpers usually wear knee patches on their breeches to have a better grip while jumping. The full-seat breeches are preferred by dressage riders because they allow them to hold their position while riding and showing their horses.

The breeches of some horses reach as far as the ankles, while those of others only reach the calf area. Depending on the rider’s skill level, each type suits a different style. Breeches are either long or short depending on the rider’s preference for long or short boots. There are times when the breeches have suede patches inside the knees, and other times the suede extends all the way up and around the buttocks. The foot straps on some breeches will keep them tightly under the boots. You need the type of horse that matches the type of horse riding you enjoy and the type that would be most suitable for you.

Which size to choose

Breeches are primarily available in standard lengths when it comes to sizes. There are, however, some styles that come in both regular and long lengths. The waist measurement is taken into account when making women’s breeches. You should always order a size larger than your waist measurement. Children, however, receive breeches in the same size as their other pants.

Washing the breeches.

Washing the breeches

Use a washing powder recommended by the manufacturer. Follow the instructions for using cold or lukewarm water. The horse riding breeches should always be washed inside-out. The darker pants will not fade, and the lighter pants will not be affected by other dyes. The pants should not be soaked in water for a long time.  Once you’ve washed them, hang them to dry immediately. White breeches should be treated as soon as possible if they are stained, otherwise they could be ruined.

Today’s breeches, however, are skin tight and have Velcro or zipper fastenings where they come up to the calf. Most people wear them for casual riding and hunting. Breeches for horses are normally stretchy, durable, and comfortable due to the material they are made of.
